Travel Strategies for Portal – Needed Flyspy for India – Quick !

Got an opportunity to finally review flyspy. First thing which came to my mind after having a look is farecast defined to meet answers of so called leisure/unplanned travel industry portals are running after.I like to travel so generally questions i tend to find answers for

# I got origin city and a destination city and i wish to make travel within next month. Whats the best time to go fare wise?

# I got 2 Days weekend comming up. tell me which place you can fly me in put me in a hotel and get me back for work ?

Well i do understand 2nd question is more managable and with an effective CRM tool portals can keep on top. First question sounds so unstructured and unheard from. Well what my blog stats show most of the people who read my blog are tech savvy to search it using Travel 2.0 term. Probably i even use it too much.

But importantly going back to the first question where did it come from. If you go visit a small travel agent based in buzzing small markets in delhi or backlanes of lucknow. Question people pose is simple . “I got people at Place X and wish to make visit this or next month. Tell me whenever flight is cheaper will fly”

Now not only site tells me which day of the month which flight will be cheaper but what should be my return date. Bravo Flyspy. If you plan to come to india contact me can surely work out a better transaction oriented model than what you are ready to offer in US.Trust me indian market is all about flying cheap.

Whenever i read a VC make statement that travel portals are changing how the sector works and bringing new tools and methods for customers. I would surely like to know how is the product piple line looking. I believe with portals pumpping 500 transactions per day which might have been highers than their current expectations. Most of  the travel portals in india are busy scaling up to meet growing demand. But this growth offcourse is best for the model but is it sustainable on only price or customer support factor. For Answers please visit your favourite travel portal….

Business India 2.0 Future 2106 Industry Growth,Need of Today

Today i was having a chat with fellow entrepreneur Rahul Thakur and while i was talking about all the efforts put in since last 7 years by me in keeping my focus centric on internet and emerging technologies. He made a very interesting point . Rahul thakur comes from an traditional established chandni chowk(india’s one of the oldest and biggest trading market place) business inherited and doubled from generation to generation.  He said that businesses are not made overnite and it generally takes 4 generations in indian scenario to become an established brand name. Probably Rahul’s lack of knowledge on IT businesses been more proffesional manager managed affair as compared to other sectors in india was reason for this comment. But the vision in his statement is for every entreprenuer to think of. The business and opportunity has to survive and should capacity to go for 4 generation of leadership change. In india we are yet to see any business house (except TCS) to show that change of leadership . If infosys comes first in your mind please be known that Nilekani was one of the founder of the organization. Aziz Premji is still at Wipro and Satyam is still going strong without a change. Important it will be see if these indian businesses will survive their founders vision and last the 4 generations to see 2106.

Getting back to basics what it made me realize the business model is not one should bank the business on but actual existance of market. As models can change but changing a market means a person who knows Spanish to expect business fluency in Italian. As its almost similar(INTERNET based) and would be easy to adapt to. surely language will be easy to learn and adapt to but spanish is what is native to you and what you do best. Derieve value from your expertise and then experiment with ideas.

Opprortunity 2.0 India

As Cyberica is now restructuring itself into Internet and Emerging Technologies Consulting Group. We were looking at research grants available for organizations wishing to pursue the great software dream of realizing potential by servicing the great growing and demanding indian market. But whatever assistance is available for IT & ITES companies in india concentrates on development of products/services for export purposes. Let it be STPI,SEZ, Grants by Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of IT etc.

Though we talk about availability of better opportunities and funding enviornment available. It never comes to light VC are pushing big dreams or the next big thing. What about small opportunities which require small enterprenuers. This is the reason indian industries and people are suffering due to lack availability of cheaper indian version of microsoft office or other products which were innovative could sustain income for a micro scale IT Unit.  As this will help in increasing employment in the sector and deriving value by servicing to the Micro sector itself.

In india which is lot of time reffered to as country of shop keepers. We have seen lot of small businesses though have not scaled but been filling gap and demand of a business ecosystem internal to them. But in way creating business opportunities for lot of other people. People need to understand some time small problems dont need big solutions but small practical solutions. We are again seeing return of small web design companies in US. With people going with change. But in india where still all the businesses dont have Online pressence there are lot hundreds of small companies working in small backlanes of commerical markets making things online at 1/10th the cost what company with large office in gurgaon might be doing. Nasscom and even ministries need to bring in funding for these small companies for bringing them at par with companies earning the forex.

If lalu prasad yadav was made Minister of IT. He can probably comeup with a Garib Rath(luxury superfast trains for poor) concept IT Park which are made available for companies looking at catering to the indian market.
