With Placement season around the corner. Companies are gearing up to be the first to hire at top colleges. On the other hand Colleges/Universities Placement cells are working extra hard to get more and more companies to attend their season to increase pay packages for their students.
With advent of online recruiting job portals are fighting their own battles for introduction of new techniques for improving hiring processes. Timesjob last time checked out were working on Voice Resumes. If we have voice resumes coming in why cant we have Video Interviewing setup. Example let an organization create question bank of 50 questions classified under different heads so that every head is touched in an candidates interview. Randomly 10 questions are selected for each candidate based on heads and candidates are provided 2 minutes to answer every question without option to rewind and re-think keeping them in interview mode at all times. If its expensive for companies to bring in such systems then colleges with dedicated Computer Centers should host these interview on high bandwidth network making it directly available to companies not able to visit them physically for placement.
Its a very much workable solution keeping in mind number of colleges in india and number of IT Companies.
