– India’s Best Online Movie Ticket Engine – Review!!!

After seeing heavy advertisement on CNBC -TV18 i finally decided to pay a little visit to this site The site as my suspicion goes was another Tv18 property. But unlike their other properties out of Web18 stable it was in form of strategic investment made in Bigtree entertainment which has been around for some time with their portal which was earlier reviewed on this blog. unlike its predecessor in has a more cleaner interface, easy to use,bug free(supports Firefox) and give you all details on seats available to pricing without any hassle for registration. This site is a clear model of business meets web 2.0 as we can see how the site aggregate content from other Tv-18 properties like and works on established business model of selling services associated with it.

After using this site once i have already informed 50 odd people which face lot of trouble with PVR Cinemas website over the weekend and have been recieving positive response ever since. The 15% discount being offered is an added bonus and makes buying ticket online more attractive.

In past i have been a big critic of bigtree entertainment and their effort with but with i cant say about the rest of blogging community but they surely have silenced me!!!!!

Job well done!!!!!

if you want to build a website, you have to make sure it works in every browser. right now i cant book anything using firefox. really pathetic.

I am not surprised to see such a development happening in the Indian e-commerce space. But you need to understand the first step to achieving complete e-commerce coverage for a service like is by providing this service to the players(read theaters) having the infrastructure in place.

That is the fairly simple task, but, the real challenge is when you have to address issues of the theaters not having any infrastructure is place.

So for starters, I see this as a positive sign and we should appreciate the effort of TV18 and

I believe that the success of any Dot Com is 5% technology and 95% publicity (it could be in anyways). If we get into the technical intricacies of a site like, I would say it is far more complex to develop and maintain than any web ticket booking site.

Without a doubt a site like would require high volumes & advertisements to achieve the break-even and be a profit making venture.

I was wondering if any of you knew which payment gateway bookmyshow has been using. Its a very clean interface and I am looking out for a online payment provider who lets me integrate the payment options into my site securely and seamlessly like that of bookmyshow. Hope someone knows.

hey jessgeojose, the gateway they use is paymate.
i know cos i just called them today as i had a problem redeeming a gift voucher on
unfortunately, altho bookmyshow has always been a fantastic experience for me, the paymate ppl were simply too frustrating for words! i was on the phone for almost an HOUR trying to first reach them and then to make them understand what had gone wrong with the online transaction (my comp hung midway). needless to say, i have given up all hopes of ever redeeming that gift voucher 😦
